Sitting on a Stump

I registered this image on my Leica Q2 for a Wabi-Sabi project. I like the black and white conversion in how the leaves are light to help the tree and tree stump stand out.

Contemplation

A bench in the woods can mean different things to different people. Perhaps a place to go for silence or to pause in thought, remembering a moment spent with a dear friend.

Black and White Leaves

This image was taken during the mid-day sun on a walking trail. I used a narrow aperture and a luma cube to create my own light.

Fall River Falls

This waterfall is in Grand Marais, Minnesota. The city recently built a biking bridge over this pretty little falls so this particular view is hampered by the bridges shadow now. Finding this little gem off the highway will bring you to a hide-away and secluded small beach to spend some quality time enjoying Lake Superior.

Cascade Falls

This is an interesting waterfall in black and white. Notice the animal face on the left and parrot on the right; not as previlent in the color version. This waterfall is located in the Cascade State Park in Lutsen, Minnesota.

I came upon this group of geese while strolling in a park. I converted the photo to monochrome and applied a sepia tone.

Who doesn't love a smiling cow and Holly here is showing off her smile! She was a young cow full of spunk and curiosity.

Norweigan Forest Cat

Link is his name. He has semi-long hair and has a rugged appearance. He was a very people friendly cat as well as sensitive yet social. This breed is considered large and sturdy, well-muscled with significant boning. Males weigh from 12 to 16 pounds. Link definitely was a big boy.

Sophie is a tracking dog who just returned from a run and is now patiently waiting for her owner's return.

A Horse, Electric Fence and Water

Say hello to my therapy horse, Tandy! I have had her for 19 years, and she has been a good companion the whole time; she is a safe horse and is retired now. She grazes in a pasture in front of our home, and one day I found this scene interesting. Usually, these three elements (horses, water, and electricity) don't naturally go together. Rest assured, the fence doesn't need to be turned on.

Rusty Gate

I like the texture of this gate bracket; the paint is peeling. Do you see the angelfish? And do you notice the cobweb in the opening area where the chain slides down? I did not see these items when I first saw the gate. It was only after editing it that I noticed.

Locked Gate

I find this gate eye-catching. I think it has an interest as a subject for black and white photography. I found it as I was walking along a river. The gate encloses space underneath a bandshell. I like the gate's webs and texture and the dark black background; they imply mystery.

Dandelion Blowball

Dandelions are perennial flowering herbs. They are not only edible but have a medicinal value and stress reliever. Maybe that is why I enjoy photographing them!
