Split Rock Lighthouse
Split Rock Lighthouse is on Lake Superior in Minnesota. This is the lake where the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald pushed across the lake with a cargo of iron ore. In blinding snow, and waves reaching 25-feet, Fitzgerald lost both radars and ultimately sank 17-miles from shore. All 29 crew members were lost. Every November 10th they light the lighthouse in Two Harbors, Minnesota to commemorate the event.
